Mission Oak

We got a call from the painter asking for our final choices for paint and stain.
The paint choices were tricky.  It's hard to look at a sample swatch at the place and be able to tell how that color will come out.  I have been searching Sherwin Williams paint colors online using the Houzz app, Pinterest and Google searching.  We were instructed to choose colors that were within the top two choices on the 7 color swatch.  Any darker colors chosen would come with a lofty price tag.
After a consult with Judy, we decided on the paint.
We are using three colors Accessible Beige, Alpaca Gray and Natural Choice (sort of off white/cream).

The stain was a  much easier decision. A while back we went to visit a house in Otsego to check out their hardwood floor and as soon as we walked in we knew that we had found the right color for trim and cabinets.  When I explained to Bill that we had looked at a house in Otsego he knew right away which color we were talking about.  He seemed pretty confident and although it made me nervous that we didn't talk the decision to death and confirm 100 times that we were talking about the same house I trusted that he would get it right.  Brian also had to remind me a few times that we will be there so much that if something is wrong we can always fix it.
When we came to the house today we saw that the stain work had started.  It is GORGEOUS!

They also poured the garage floor.  Brian has been waiting for this!  It's crazy how big the garage looks now with walls and a floor...I got nervous when they were framing, it looked like our cars wouldn't even fit.

Taking a picture from the kitchen to capture the room feeling, the floor and the trim from a distance and Hailey noticed that I had the camera up so of course she struck a pose.

The rest of our doors are set up in the office right now.  Boxes of spindles for our railing and more trim.
