Play Ball!

We are entering into game season!
I love watching these girls on the field.  They are learning the game and with each game they get better.
I hope Hannah enjoys playing softball as much as I did.
Being part of a team is a special feeling and I want my kids to experience that.
So far Hailey hasn't minded going to the games and watching her sister play.  She hasn't yet asked if she can play next year so I still need to work on that :-)

Who's kid is that?!

It's starting to get nice out.  It's always funny this time of year when the outside temp hits 50 and us Minnesotans start wearing shorts, flip flops and coats start to become optional.  I secretly love this time of year.  It's one of those things that people from our state just 'get' about each other.  You can't help but smile the first time you are out and about and see your first person walking around with shorts and a t-shirt on.  I find myself thinking "Yay!  We did it!  We made it through another winter!"

Today Brian turned his sprinklers back on and Hailey could not have been more excited.
As soon as she saw it, she ran upstairs.  When she came back downstairs I heard her go outside.  I wasn't really thinking much of it until I looked outside and found her out in her swimsuit, running through the sprinkler.  Haha- Who's kid is that?!?!

For the record, I tried to get her to come inside and put some clothes on but she just sat out there looking at me acting like she couldn't hear what I was saying.  I think it's safe to say that this little one has been waiting for a day like today.

Just another night with the neighbors

It was just another night hanging around at home with a few of our closest neighbors/friends.
We sure are lucky :-)

Poppin' Collars

Jennie showed the girls how to 'pop' their collars.

Today before they left for school they wanted me to snap a pic to send to Jennie to show her :-)

More holes

The tooth fairy will be making another stop at the Parmleys!
This would be #5 for this girl

Happy 65th Bob!

Today we went to grandma's to celebrate Bob's birthday.
It's always tricky on Sunday afternoon's.  We all plan to arrive around noon but if you get there early (like we did today) you just might find that grandma and Bob went to church and nobody else is planning on showing up early.  So, I guess we will just sit out in the car and wait.

We finally made it in for the celebration.
Bob never has any ideas for anyone about what he wants for his birthday but he sure does love getting presents.  As soon as he sees there is a present with his name on it he can't contain himself.  And you gotta keep an eye on him because he's been known to get started whether or not the rest of the group is ready.
This year I took my chances at making Bob a new sweatshirt for his big day and
man oh man did he LOVE it!

He had opened his cards next and once we thought he was done we brought him his cake.
The lit cake sat in front of him glowing for a few minutes before he realized it was even there.
He finally took a break from his scratch off, just enough to lean in and blow the candles then he turned right back to his lotto ticket to see if he had won.  (keep this guy out of the casino!)

Twinsies

When I was dropping the girls off today Hailey gasped when Hannah had taken off her coat.  "LOOK!  We are all twinsies today!  Take a selfie mom!"

Wait Mom....Just Wait!

As much as I love having the DVD players in the car, they are also very annoying.
Today I turned the car off and was told 'Wait mom (with the finger)!'
Apparently she was at a good part in a show that she has seen 100 times and didn't want to miss it.

Yup, that's my kid.

It's been a few days and the Easter baskets were still in the middle of the living room floor.
I had asked the girls to pick them up and bring them to their rooms.  This evening when I came upstairs to get the girls room ready and lay out clothes for tomorrow I saw this.
Yup.  I should have expected this.  She kind of did what I asked.
Being the same type of kid, I know it was hard for her to even get it this far, those few additional feet could have killed her.

Pin Ups

I have had my eye on some extra large metal safety pins that finally made their way to my virtual cart and eventually made their way to my front door!

Now I am back at it!  Creating my paper templates and testing out my placement :-)

I have also been on the hunt for something for the back wall.  Some type of laundry sign.
After walking around Hobby Lobby, I think I have settled on these letters.

A little more to the left and I think we might be onto something.
DONE!

Easter 2015

Happy Easter!

This Easter started like any other.  The girls woke up, searched the house for their baskets.
I made bunny pancakes and then after showers we made our way to Grandma Bauers.

Grandma's is usually filled with good food and conversation and then lots and lots of pictures.
After grandmas we went to Grandma Judy's where the kids had another egg hunt and we enjoyed more delicious food!

Day Date

The kids ran over to Jacob's today and soon after we got a text that Joe was going to take them to the park.  Hmmmm, kids are gone today, it's a beautiful day out.....wonder if Goman's would mind watching them for a few hours so we could hit a few balls?
As soon as we heard back from Joe that he would be happy to keep the girls for a while we called up the in laws and within the hour we were on our way to the course.

It's the first time I will be out golfing in a long time.  Too long.
I didn't do too bad.  Not bad at all when you consider that it had been well over two years since I had swung a club.  It was also my first time golfing with a cart.  THAT is the way to do it!

Goodbye Wisconsin!

We checked out this morning and then spent the rest of the day at the indoor park and did some bowling.   Surprisingly the girls were a little swam out so they didn't fight at all about not swimming today.  It was a nice getaway!

Family Trip Day 2

Today we started our day at the indoor amusement park.
Rode the Ferris Wheel a few times, drove go carts, climbed rock walls, played games, more mini golf.  Then we made our way back to the water.

This evening we had dinner at Buffalo Phil's where your food is delivered to you on a train!
The girls loved it!

Every so often they would send the train through with toys or bubble machines on it.  It was a fun way to entertain the kids while you enjoyed your dinner.  And the food was delicious too!

Family Trip

It's finally happening!  The Parmley Family is taking a vacation!

Brian and I were talking one night how nice it would be to finally take the girls somewhere.  Spring Break was just around the corner and although we weren't planning to hop off to Florida or anything, we thought a good old fashioned  road trip to the Dells sounded fun.

The girls did great in the car on the way there.  Thanks to movies and car games :-)
As soon as we arrived we stopped for lunch and then drove through 'downtown' with the shops.
The girls were most interested in getting to our hotel and getting in the pool so we didn't spend much time out and about.
We stayed at the Kalahari.  It advertised an indoor amusement park, bowling, indoor and outdoor waterpark (the outdoor park was obviously closed due to the time of year), it had a movie theater, restaurants and even a baby tiger.

Before we made our way to the waterpark we played a round of mini golf.  It was a blast!
Hannah really wanted to tackle the water slides so I went with her.  It probably wasn't the best idea because after a few falls through the dark and twisty tunnels, I started to feel sick.
It could have been from the motion, it could have been that it was almost 7 o clock at night and we hadn't eaten dinner.  Whatever it was had me out for the count for the rest of the night.  Brian went and got us a pizza and we spent the rest of day one (well the evening of day one) in the hotel room tending to a sick mommy.  (it sucks getting old)
