Happy Halloween Day!

Of course every kid should wake up to Halloween donuts!  The girls were super impressed.
I ended up getting two dozen so I sent some over to the Carlson's and Goman's as well.

I volunteered at Hannah's school today for her class Halloween party.

Each of the parents that were involved came up with a different idea for an activity or snack and then we set up stations.  We had the kids break up into groups and spend 10 minutes at each station.

Bean Bag Toss

TP Bowling

Spider Craft

Hannah loved having me there.  I surprised her by wearing a small (very small) costume.

Ms Short called a few kids names at a time and when their name was called it was their time to get their costume on.  When Hannah came out from the bathroom the girls in her class went crazy!  "Hannah!  A bride?!  Look at you!  You are so pretty!  You look like a princess!"  They then gathered around her to 'protect' her from the werewolf and other 'monsters' in the classroom.

The kids seemed to really enjoy themselves and the TP Bowling was a HIT!

Our first Halloween at the new house.  The Busta's came over to Trick O' Treat in the neighborhood with us.  Typically we have been going to their neighborhood, since our block never did much and there were no kids walking around.

Dave and Brian hooked the kids up with a stylish ride!  We made our way through the neighborhood and then back home to warm up.  I wish that Halloween wasn't always so cold.  I don't remember it being so cold all the time when we were little and since we have had kids I feel like every year is freezing.   Thank goodness for hand warmers, mittens and neighbors serving warm cocktails!

The Carving of the Pumpkins

This year the girls had a pretty good idea of how they wanted their pumpkins.  Their was a request for Olaf and a request for a 'guy'.

This is the best I could do but I actually think they turned out pretty good.

We took their tops off, scooped out their guts and then gave them faces.  After we were done, the girls went downstairs to get daddy while I turned off the lights and lit them up.  When they walked back upstairs they were really enjoying the big reveal :-)

Randoms to Round out October

I picked the girls up from school today and on the way home I was instructed to drop them off at Jacob's.  I love that they have friends in the neighborhood that they want to hang out with.
I also appreciate the fact that the other families are so welcoming and good to our kids.
(I just hope they always behave and use their manners)
They looked so big to me standing outside on the front steps waiting for someone to let them in. Little grown ups with their own social lives.

Hannah and I ran to Walmart and she was pretty excited to see the Duck Dynasty guy.  So much in fact that she insisted she get to take her picture with him.

Different Kind of Dance Costume

The girls got to wear their Halloween costumes to dance class tonight.
It's kind of nice to have these other costume events so that they get more wear out of their costumes.

Happy Pre-Halloween!

Today we got together for our Grammy Halloween Party.
It's fun for the kids to get together and show off their costumes for grandma.
Typically there are always leaves to jump in and this year grandma even bought
 treats for trick 'o treating.
We had the kids circle the house and each time they came to the door they got a little treat bag/prize.

Sign for Garbage

Hailey made this puppet at daycare.  She came home and informed us all that we needed to sign it to say that we will Recycle.  She asked me to write 'Sign for Garbage' on it and then she collected her signatures :-)  Hannah must have wore off on her.

Beginning to BOO

This was the first time ever that I have put up decorations for Halloween.  Well, besides the expected carved pumpkins.  I purchased a few things for the fireplace and made some mummy jars.

We took a longer route to daycare one day and happened to drive past this guy- the girls were pretty impressed.

Work Sucks

Denny retired this year.  He worked at Olympic Steel for 44 years as a crane operator.

Hannah made a sign for everyone to sign.  Her and her sister and cousins walked around the party making sure everyone who was there signed the Work Sucks card for grandpa.

We hosted a party for his friends and family and after most of the guests left, a few neighbors joined us for an extended party.  It's was a great night!

New Shelves

Brian built me new shelves for our master bathroom and I finally finished purchasing everything for them.  I love how they turned out!  It's just too bad that it's in the master bathroom and most people will never see it.

Bunnies, Bunnies, Everywhere

I finally came up with an idea for Hailey's room.  It's been in the works for a few weeks and today I am ready to do some hanging.

I took some pictures of her favorite bunny and then made a few other accent items.
It turned out SO cute and she absolutely LOVES it!

Here are the bunny pictures I took and had her choose from.

 She picked these four.

Happy Apple-versay!

A while back Judy bought a Groupon for Lucline Orchard in Watertown, MN>
It is owned by Terri Traen, DJ on KQRS, and her family.

The kids enjoyed playing in the haystacks,

 feeding the animals,

posing for pictures,

swinging, eating lunch and running through the Corn Maze.

The girls went home with Brian's parents today so we could celebrate our Anniversary.
Happy 11th Anniversay to Brian and I!

Fall Show

Tonight the girls had a Fall Dance Show.  We talked Jacob into coming with us tonight and the girls were super excited to have him as their special guest.  Hailey and Grace dance in the same class this year so it's been fun to see them together.

When we got home from the dance show we noticed something on our doorstep.

We have been BOOed!
One of the neighbors left a basket of treats for the girls with a note explaining what needed to happen next.
We had 48 hours to BOO two more houses and in order to assure that everyone knows if we have been BOOed already, we need to hang the sign in our front window.  Within a week, everyone will have been BOOed.  We still don't know who BOOed us but we BOOed the Gomans and the Carlsons- shhhhhhh don't tell :-)

"Yook Mom!"

When we pulled into the driveway to Jackie's today Hailey wanted me to make sure that I didn't run her over.  This is her self portrait from yesterday :-)

Fashion Show

The girls and Jacob have been into putting on Fashion Shows.  They raid the trunk full of Halloween and dance costumes and then one by one strut the runway.  Sophia is usually the organizer, helping to keep them in order and getting them changed.

Even Zoey got a front row seat.
