Father Hennepin Days Parade

Tonight we went to Morgan's house ( a girl the girls go to Jackie's with) for her Birthday Party.
As party of the party events we walked up the street and enjoyed the Father Hennepin Days parade.

In all my years in Champlin (it's been 12 now!) we have never attended this parade.  We don't have a thing against parades, it was just something we didn't do.  I always thought it would be fun to go- helps to feel like part of the community.

It was a good parade.  It lasted about 90 minutes and there was a constant stream of things happening in front of us so the kids never got bored.

Many local businesses gave away coupons.  Jimmy Johns was throwing out subs, Buffalo Wild Wings was handing out coupons for free wings, Kiddo Klips sprayed kids hair with pink-green or blue coloring.
We had a good time.

Walking poster child for any candidate that had stickers to give away

Her 'Amy' pose- more on that tomorrow

Later that night when we were hanging out in the front yard at Morgan's house Brian asked Maissa "Is that your cat?"

We looked a little closer and saw that this was not a cat!  Wonder what was wrong with this little fella-coming out at dusk like that with all of these people around.

LOVE the pictures! Looks like fun (though maybe a little too hot for me to have enjoyed it). :-)
