ABC Scavenger Hunt

We needed a way to get the kids out of the house today.
Agustin preferred to sit inside and play on the iPad.  Hannah and Kas were playing in the sand but every so often you could see them getting bored.

Then we had an idea- my sisters and I decided to create an ABC Scavenger hunt.

Meet the team

NICOLAS a.k.a. Nico, Kas
The eyes and ears of the group.
He was the leader of the group helping them to hunt out each of the objects

HANNAH  a.k.a.  Haney, Hannah Banana, Bean
The recorder.  She would be responsible for capturing the items on film.

AGUSTIN  a.k.a.  Tin, Agus
The map.  He would read off the items and direct the group to their next mission.

A = Acorn
B = Ball

C = Car
D = Dog

E = Elephant
F = Fishing Pole

G = Grill
H = Hopping Kids

I = Icky something
J = Jennie  (they pretty much attacked her :-) )

K = Kid
L = Log

M = Map (very clever kids!)
N = Necklace, however they thought it said Nicolas

O = Open something
P = Pine tree

Q = Quilt
R = Rake

S = Sand
T = Toad (they searched for a good 30 minutes for this one- Bobby to the rescue!)

U = Umbrella
V = Van

W = Water (hard to tell, they took a picture in the bathroom of the water from the faucet but it was too bright so they went to the pool)

X = Xtra cute something
Y = Yellow

Z = Zoo animals  (at least there is a bear there...)

The kids had so much fun that they wanted another one.
Second time around we made it a 'silly scavenger'.  Some of the things they needed to snap a picture of included Armpit, Butt, Cruddy old feet, earwax, Poop, Stinky Shoe, Toliet, Underwear
Half way through my camera died :-(  They did get some pretty silly pictures however they lost interest of this scavenger once the camera went dark.

Funny story:  Cruddy Old Feet
Hannah: "Oh I know!  Grandma has old feet!  Let's go!"

I don't think that story is so funny.....at least, they asked me what does "cruddy" mean? (after they took the pic)

LOVE this idea! I had also read somewhere that a good activity is to make your own alphabet book - where you photograph yourselves with different letters of the alphabet.... I keep thinking we need to do that with Violet.
