This is always the time of the holidays where the panic starts to set it.  Wondering if we have everything we need.  Are the presents wrapped?  Do I remember where I have hid them all?  Checking my list over and over to assure I haven't forgotten about anyone.  Thankfully I haven't missed anyone yet!

Tonight we piled in the car with Jack, Emelyn and Sara and drove around to look at Christmas lights.  One of my favorite things to do at Christmas time.

This year we drove out to St Paul and made the trip down Summit avenue to the Governor's mansion, the Cathedral, State Capitol and 'famous' York Ave.

Santa Face

The girls woke up this morning to their very own Santa face on their mirror.

They enjoyed lining up with the beard and hat to see what they would look like as Santa.

When Lula is not at eye level, it always takes the girls a little way longer to find her.  

She sure looks cute all bunched up in there.  Although I can't help but feel an urgency to get her out of there!

This morning Lula left a little love note for the girls.

Put a little damper on my plan to make eggs this morning but it was worth it.

Come Back!

Whenever the girls are gone for the night, Lula spends her day looking out the window waiting for them to come home.  Brian and I had his work party last night at COV in Wayzata.  That place is amazing!  I wanted to try something different so I got the mushroom gnochi, it was delicious!

It was nice to get out and spend the evening out together.  Brian's parents are always so great at helping out and taking the kids when we ask.  Super appreciate that!

Mini-Letterman

Letterman shirts are all the rage.  Sweatshirts and t-shirts of any color with the Letterman Sports (a sports store in Blaine/Plymouth) logo on them.  Nothing special but you simply can't go anywhere these days without seeing someone wearing one.  They are super reasonably priced $14-$16 for the hoodie and $4-$6 for the t-shirts, so I can understand why people (mostly us) stock up on them.

She came in like a wrecking ball

Lula was 'hanging out' this morning.  The girls definitely appreciate when she is easy to spot but then they will make comments about how she never hides anymore.  She just can't win sometimes :-)

My Little Sweatheart

Once again, when they couldn't find Lula this morning you could see the defeat starting to take over their moods.  Once Hailey gave in decided it was time to eat, she opened the pantry and immediately started calling for her sister.  "Hannah come look at Lula!  Mom!  Look!"

Foiled again

The girls weren't too fooled by this one.  They saw what she did, giggled a little bit and then unwrapped them and headed off to school.  Lula- you are going to have to try harder if you want to impress these girls these days.

JMG Peanut Butter

Another JMG project- this time one of the options was to make homemade peanut butter.

Once you are done with the project a parent just needs to sign in the book that it was completed.  Hannah always insists that we take pictures to send to her teacher.

Nighty Night

Two nights ago we found her in Hailey's bed and last night was Hannah's bed.  Anytime the girls are gone, Lula takes advantage of getting some shut eye in their comfy beds.

Q-Tip me

Tonight is the annual Christmas party at Vicki's.  This year we had to make something using a Q-Tip.

Bear Skin Hat...?

I have heard of a bear skin rug but a bear skin hat?  That's a new one.

Lists and ummm....ops

The girls started to make their Christmas lists for this year.  Surprise, surprise, they want slime stuff.

Couldn't help but smile when reading Hannah's list and seeing that she wants separate money to donate to charity.  

Hailey's list is also pretty predictable- markers, colored pencils, a pet and glue.  

Yep- that about sums these girls up right now.

Ummm...what on earth Lula?!?!  I am pretty sure she meant to just show us that was hanging over the toilet and not falling in but that pose- lol, a little too much maybe?

All Tangled Up

Ouch!  Someone was playing with the toys last night and she must have gotten stuck.

Storytime

How sweet- this morning we found Lula reading to two very large gummy bears.  They were reading the book Daddy's Girl which was one of our favorites.

This morning the girls spent a few minutes looking around the house for her and then sat down at the island to start asking me where they should look next.  I opened the fridge to start breakfast and Hailey spotted her right away!

 but it sure didn't take the girls too long to spot her!

Jo-Jo Xmas

Hailey has been super into Jo-Jo bows this year.  Jo Jo Siwa is a preteen dancer/pop singer who wears the biggest bows you have ever seen on her head and the girls of America can not get enough!

This year along with her signature bows, she has launched a clothing line.

Amazing to think such a young child can have such a country-wide presence.

She certainly is talented and from what I have seen she seems to be a decent role model for the kids so more power to her.  You just have to hope that fame and fortune don't get to her like it does for so many others.  

Lula Kicks off 2017

Just like clock work Lula showed up at our house this morning, like she does after Thanksgiving every year.  The girls are always excited to wake up and see her here.  For the last few days they started talking about her and always ask the same things "Do you think Lula will come back this year?"  "When does she come again?"  "What do you think she will do this year?"

Happy Thanksgiving

The year always goes by so fast.  Once school starts back up we have birthdays, Halloween, Thanksgiving and then Christmas.  

Sure is special to have another little guy hanging out with us for the holidays!

Poor Grandma, these busy holidays get harder and harder for her to stay awake.  You really can't blame her though, there's so much action and noise that it's exhausting trying to follow it all.
