Boo to You

Last night at the Halloween party I had brought donuts for all of the kids- they were a hit!

We carved our pumpkins last night.

Hannah did all of hers all by herself!

 

 

This year Hannah was a witch and Hailey was Layla, Queen of the Beach (from Teen Beach 2)

The trailer was set up again and Brian brought the kids through the neighborhood.  It's great to have the ride for them.  Sometimes kids would take a break, the littles seemed to just want to ride most of the time, the parents loved the extra cargo space.

 

There's a Party Going On!

Since Halloween is on a Monday night this year, Melodie thought it would be a good idea to have a neighborhood party Sunday night.  We all brought food, Dave made his chili (yummy) and Brian took the kids on a hay/trailer ride.  It was fun for the kids to use their costumes again and sometimes we are all running around so much during Trick o Treating that we don't get to spend too much time together.  This was a great idea!

Good Day

This makes me smile so big.  Knowing that I have a little girl that is happy.  

Hannah has been waking up every morning and taking a shower.  She has such a love for life and loves school so much that she wakes each morning excited about the day.

I hope she never loses this part of her!

Hannah sent me a message today after she went to bed telling me she wasn't feeling good.

I love that she thinks I have the power to 'make her feel better', like it's just a thing that I can do.  I love that she thinks I am capable of something like that but this is a lot of pressure!

Luckily we were able to get her to relax long enough that she fell asleep and felt better when she woke up.

That's All She Wrote

This weekend will be the last weekend at the lake this year.  Time to close things up and turn the water off.  Kristin wanted to take some fall pictures of Davis.  He was not his usually smiley self and was pretty confused about what we were up to.  

We turned the oven on to cook up some breakfast and within minutes the place was filled with the most horrible smell (mouse pee).  We quickly decided that we would be closing up and getting out a lot sooner than planned this weekend.  The smell was unbearable.  Ugh- not looking forward to dealing with that problem next spring.  Stupid mice.

Death to Fruit Flies

For some reason all of the houses around here tend to get fruit flies.  It doesn't matter if there is fruit laying out or not.  It seems to be certain times of the year when we are all complaining about them.

Brian found these fruit fly traps at the store and as you can see they work great!

Fall Photo Shoot

It was such a nice day today.  Judy dug up some of her hostas for us and came over to plant them.  We then decided to grill and as we were getting ready to head to the store to buy steaks, I yelled to the girls to put some clothes on so we could stop at the park quick to take some pictures.

I figured I would let them decide what to wear and wasn't going to make a big deal of it.

We stopped up at the park nearby and the trees were gorgeous!  We made it here just in time because within a few days the colors would fade and leaves would start to fall pretty quickly.

 

 

Amy's Army

Breakthrough for Brain Tumors 5K at Como Lake

OCW was representing!  Our team name was Amy's Army.

Surprinsingly all of the kids did great!  Noah ran with Dave for at least 1/2.  Hailey pushed Chase in the stroller.  Hannah ran for part of the ending.  It was a great morning and a nice day to be out supporting our warrior.

Amy has been doing well.  No new tumor growth.  Chemo still drains her but it appears to be doing it's job.  Amy continues to wear the Optune and at this point the 'end dates' for both of these continue to be a 'wait and see'.

A New Twist on an Old Favorite

Preheat oven to 250 degress

Place a Rolo on top of a pretzel and put in oven for 2-3 minutes

Take pretzels out of oven, top with a chunk of sliced apple

Just For Kix

The girls have their Halloween Show this afternoon.

Hailey needs to come as a skeleton and Hannah as a 'nightmare'.

It was their first time wearing face paint and they were so excited to show it off that they went running over to Katie and Steve's.

Roller Girl

This year Hailey wanted to have her party at Cheap Skate.  

She doesn't own a pair of skates but they have gone with A+ and she had a good time.

She invited a bunch of friends from school and had a great time.

There was a good mix of kids that knew how to skate and others that were beginners like Hailey.

They all had fun and loved the DJ!
